OBA’s comprehensive careers education strategy is dedicated to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities essential for making informed decisions about their future. The Academy is compliant with the Baker Clause, reinforcing our commitment to providing students with impartial and quality careers guidance.
Our strategy centres on creating enduring industry partnerships and seamlessly integrating careers education into Academy life. This approach ensures that students gain a nuanced understanding of diverse career options. Anchored in labour market information and the local industry strategy, our strategy aligns opportunities with current demand, preparing students for a dynamic professional landscape.
The Academy’s careers education program is evaluated against the Gatsby Benchmarks and emphasises quality careers interactions and skills development, encompassing communication, problem-solving, resilience, and leadership. These skills not only enhance job search and career advancement but also contribute to personal and professional relationship building.
In December 2023 we achieved the nationally recognised Quality in Careers Standard. This recognition underscores our dedication to providing high-quality careers education aligned with international benchmarks.
