Ormiston Bushfield Academy celebrates record-breaking results
There is a real sense of celebration and pride at Ormiston Bushfield Academy this morning as students collected some of the highest GCSE results in the school’s history, marking the culmination of years of hard work, determination and resilience.
We are continuing to go from strength to strength, with an excellent set of results achieved by this year’s Year 11 cohort.
The year group achieved particularly highly in French and history, with 56% and 32% of students securing Grade 7 or above in the two subjects respectively. Success also extended to vocational qualifications, where more than a third of students achieved a Distinction or Distinction* in sport.
The whole school community has come together today to celebrate these achievements, recognising not only the excellent results achieved, but also the commitment, perseverance and ambition demonstrated by students throughout their GCSE studies. Many students will now go on to further education, apprenticeships and training, equipped with the skills and confidence to succeed in the next stage of their journey.
Among the many success stories from this year’s cohort were several students who achieved exceptional results:
- Hollie N celebrated seven Grade 9s in biology, physics, English language, English literature, mathematics, French and history, alongside two Grade 8s in chemistry and statistics.
- Nadia J achieved five Grade 9s across English literature, mathematics, history, combined science and Polish, three Distinction*s in creative media, health and social care, and travel and tourism, and a Grade 8 in English language.
