OBA has developed strong and meaningful partnerships with a wide range of companies, each contributing to our school community in diverse and valuable ways. These collaborations have supported key projects, enhanced student opportunities, and enriched our learning environment. 

Our partners have helped us deliver initiatives such as improvements to school facilities, access to specialist equipment and technology, career-focused workshops, and inspirational mentoring programmes. These projects have created lasting benefits for our students: boosting their aspirations, building essential skills, and opening doors to future pathways. 

At the same time, our partner organisations consistently report positive outcomes of their involvement. Through their support, they have strengthened local community ties, enhanced staff engagement, and gained visibility through our school communications and events. Many companies have also valued the opportunity to contribute to meaningful social impact, aligning their support with their corporate responsibility goals. 

Impact Case Study – Shoplight

Shoplight has been a valued longstanding partner of Ormiston Bushfield Academy, supporting annual enrichment initiatives in STEM subjects and Business Studies.

Through a combination of financial investment and in‑kind contributions, this partnership has enriched students’ learning beyond the classroom, developing technical skills, commercial awareness, teamwork, confidence, and aspirations.

  • Disassembly kits for Years 7, 8 and 9, allowing students to explore engineering principles through hands-on learning
  •  A Formula 1 in Schools trip to Silverstone, broadening students’ exposure to elite STEM careers
  •  STEM Racing workshops and entry into the STEM Racing Competition
  •  Outstanding success with one OBA team achieving 1st place overall at the STEM Racing competition

What in-kind contributions enabled

  • 12 weeks of Dragon’s Den‑style workshops delivered by Shoplight staff for GCSE and A Level Business Studies students, culminating in a prize‑giving presentation
  • An interactive talk for Year 10 and Year 11 Business students on “Female Role Models in the World of Business”
  •  Student work experience placements at Shoplight, offering meaningful exposure to professional working environments

Measurable Impact on OBA Students

  • 89% of student feedback respondents rated the Williams STEM Racing Experience as excellent or very good
  • 237 KS3 students eligible for Free School Meals took part in hands‑on STEM activities (37.4% of Years 7-9 students), enabling access to experiences many would not otherwise have had
  • 30% of students participating in the STEM Racing Regional Finals were eligible for Free School Meals and 70% were female, demonstrating OBA’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity in STEM
